Qi gong with Lorraine Hughes
Sep 8 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Qi Gong literally means “breath work” and generally extends to “energy cultivation”.

When we practice Qi Gong we cultivate how we use our own innate energy, our Qi, Prana or Life Force. The exercises or sets as they are called are highly intentional, and through intention and breath we are able to manipulate the various subtle energies of the body, mind and spirit.

Anyone at any age can practice Qi Gong regardless of their limitations whether mental or physical.

It is our breath and intention that drives our internal alchemy, during which we maximize the internal , use, generation and storage of energy.

Qi Gong is about getting in touch with your nature, your life force and can assist each and every one of us through change with mindfulness. The movements are fluidic and expressed as meditation in motion or by simply standing in place $10 donation

Edgar Cayce Meditation Group
Sep 27 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
In 1931, Edgar Cayce, the American mystic and prophet, gave a series of trance sessions that outlined practical steps toward true spiritual growth.
A small group of people in Virginia Beach, Virginia began to study and work with this material.  They began to apply the information in their lives and worked hand in hand with Edgar Cayce to put these concepts into lessons that were eventually published in book form.
Cayce insisted that everything we need is within ourselves.  In this sense each person becomes their own teacher, and a teacher to others in the group as they show the results in their lives.
During our group sessions, a small portion of the material from the study book is read, discussed and brought into practical application each week. Mr. Cayce said that this is where the soul growth occurs; not simply by knowing, but through applying the principles.  Group meditation, using the devices discussed in the Cayce readings, and prayer are used to seek greater attunement with the Universal Forces.  Complementary material from Buddhist, Christian, Hindu and Islamic traditions are explored as well.
This group is facilitated by Randall Okey, who also leads the Meditation group each week at the Association for Research and Enlightenment on West 30th Street in Manhattan.
